The last time I saw Agnes before she left for China, she introduced me to the San Francisco street food cart phenomenon. It’s a relatively new movement that takes an old fashioned approach to food vending and gives it a more modern, sophisticated twist. These eateries could pop up anywhere and the only sure way to track them down is through Twitter.
Here’s a somewhat comprehensive list of the new wave of street food carts:
Magic Curry Kart – http://twitter.com/MagicCurryKart
Curry for around $5.
Sexy Soup Cart - http://twitter.com/SexySoupCart
Organic soup for $4.
Creme Brulee Cart – http://twitter.com/CremeBruleeCart
Creme brulee for $3.
Boccalone Salumeria – http://twitter.com/boccalone
Panini’s for around $7. Red Bull Cola’s for $1.
Amuse Bouche – http://twitter.com/AmuseBoucheSF
Chai or Coffee and a mini muffin for $1.
Spencer on the Go - http://twitter.com/chezspencergo
French small plates for under $12.
